About

I am Rand and I ramble. I am a graphic designer who is addicted to television and pop culture. I currently work full time as a web content administrator for one of the largest non-profit organizations in the US and part time as a blogger.

Rand Rambles started as my personal blog about three years ago and it slowly developed into an entertainment blog. I have refocused it to write about TV shows, movies, music and news. I have a passion for the entertainment business and that’s what I try to bring to the blog. I also occasionally blog about personal experiences that can encourage others.

My blog is to create insightful and entertaining content therefore providing a space for ideas about the latest entertainment topics to be shared. Commenting on my posts is highly encouraged and I try my hardest to reply to every comment.

I mainly write about the shows I watch all the time and the performers that I love. On TV shows you will see a lot about reality competitions: American Idol, Project Runway, the X-Factor, The Voice, Top Chef, America’s Next Top Model; Comedy: The Office, 30 Rock, Modern Family, Parks and Recreation and more. I also tweet often about these topics and my Twitter feed becomes a party when there are Award shows on TV.

I typically post daily. To make sure you don’t miss my newest posts, you can subscribe via RSS or email.

You can also check my blog’s archive for a list of every post I have written or use the search function in the sidebar to find other posts that might be of interest.

My Quick Bio

I was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico and moved to Dallas only six years ago. I am half Puerto Rican and half American and love both of the cultures as I grew up with both. I have a BA in Education from the University of Puerto Rico and a Masters Degree on Entertainment Business from FullSail University in Florida.

I have been doing some type of graphic design since I was in junior high. I started my own small “company” there selling cards that I made on PrintMaster to my friends to give to their boyfriends and girlfriends. PrintMaster then developed to Microsoft Picture it and then finally Photoshop. I also started and ran a small T-shirt company for a while creating inspirational designs and selling them at events around Puerto Rico. From then on I assisted at print shops and photography studios, worked at non profit organizations, had an amazing time working at Apple for close to a year and now, as I mentioned before, I work as a web content administrator.

Since I was a little boy I was always interested in travel and thankfully I have been able to do a decent amount of it. My favorite place to visit has been New Zealand, I have been here three times, for a total of 70 days. Beautiful place. I have also been to the Amazon region (Colombia, Brazil and Peru) twice in missionary trips with an amazing organization, Amazon Xpeditions. Other places I have visited are Israel, Costa Rica and the Dominican Republic.

My love for entertainment business started at a young age. I always wanted to know more. I wasn’t satisfied with just watching a TV show, I wanted to know who were the actors, what other movies had they been in and what awards if any had they received. Same thing in music, when I like a performer or artist I follow them closely, I follow their events, their sales, awards and if they broke any records. As a kid I collected Music sticker albums, Marvel Universe cards and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles action figures.

In my free time I enjoy doing this, blogging. I also enjoy watching TV, reading, watching films and brainstorming ideas on how to take over the world. I am also a little obsessed with Apple products, I love my iPhone, my MacBook Pro and my iPad and I’m always on the lookout for awesome apps.
