American Idol and the Fuchsia Hair Conspiracy

I know, I know, some of them are more into red than fuchsia, but still, it’s a little crazy for me that through 6 different seasons that hair color has prevailed. I mean, it’s not a totally normal hair color like, black, brown or blonde. But all that red makes me wonder… Why?

  • Does it have something to do with the producers decisions?
  • Is there a mastermind behind all this hair dye?
  • Is this a result of some frivolous plan to make everyone in the universe want to have their hair this color?
  • Is this part of the marketing put in place for Coca-Cola? Red cups, red hair?

I don’t know I may be getting carried away but who knows, maybe one day one of them will break the secret code and open up to the public and spill the beans. Until that moment we will have to live knowing that as long as Idol lives there is a high chance of seeing more ladies with this unusually strong hair color. Anyway, the way I see it, Idol may not have too many years left, X-Factor will take over, in my opinion. So we may know sooner rather than later.

WHY?

And now Diane has it too ;) Nothing to do with Idol though – I just finally convinced her to do something different.

X-Factor in the US will be interesting. In the UK, Pop Idol was already dead when X-Factor came along 6 years ago. Here in Oz, X-Factor lasted one season while Aust Idol just had it's 7th and final season, and no-one is saying anything about whether there'll be a talent show replacement.

And the fact the biggest star of 2009 came from the “…Got Talent” franchise and not Idol or X-Factor may be of interest too…

      Yeah @dg4G !!! I should've added Diane! haha! She's rocking the red!

Yeah, I'm looking forward to X-Factor, I followed this last season and liked the dynamics of the show and the fact that the judges mentor the contestants which are divided in teams is something I also liked.

“..Got Talent” hasn't been great here, the biggest star has been Terry Fator, the ventriloquist, he has been pretty successful in Vegas, signed a contract for $100 million with options to extend it to $200 million. Not too bad if you ask me.

I think the problem that Idol will have is losing Simon, for me he is the strength of the show, I get bored with the other judges, too bland.

Good observation. Maybe next you can look at the “I can't tell if you forgot to shave or if you're purposefully growing a beard” beard.

Seems to be pretty popular too.
