A Very Hot Tim Tam Slam!

I swear I am not only posting this little video because of how incredibly hot I look, that just a little part of it. I am posting it mainly because Tim Tam Slams are the best! You get a TimTam cookie bite the sides, use it as a straw and drink a little bit of a hot drink and then an explosion of chocolate happens. It’s awesome. I have to stop eating them so I can keep looking hot Ha!

By the way, the awesome song is Howl by Florence + The Machine.

Weird Feeling in New Zealand

I’ve been in New Zealand for 24 hours, I arrived yesterday, Saturday, at 7:25am. One of the weirdest things is that after getting to my friends’ house it literally felt as if I never left. Last time I was here was in January, five months ago, but going into the house again felt like I was just coming from town. I guess that New Zealand has become one of my homes.

On the way from the airport, we stopped for some South African goodies, these fantastic pastries called Koeksisters, so great.

Then after that we stopped to get my measurements for my tux. I wanted to wear a top hat for Ben’s wedding but he said no. Sad. Haha!

We also stopped to get some things for the wedding, ribbons, napkins, petals, etc. It was great seeing Ben looking for these things. Did I ever mention that I used to decorate weddings with my Aunt? No, well there you have it. I guess that’s where part of my artsy-ness comes from.

And well, after that we kept driving and got to Paihia, where Ben and his family live. It feels great being back here. It also feels weird for the reasons mentioned before. Also, how could I miss this, Jetlag and Alcohol don’t mix well. Why? Well I went the restaurant where Ben’s brother Jon works and one beer. ONE. BEER. And it got me the drunkest I’ve been since… Well, in a long time. Anyway, had a great night sleep and am looking forward to a great time in New Zealand. Ben’s bride is coming on Tuesday and her best friends will come with her which is great.

I leave you with a quick photo I took on my way here. I love the pics I take with my iPhone.

City Life? Options, options, options…

I live in Dallas, not exactly downtown but about ten minutes from it. Today, I’ve been thinking about living in the city, I really don’t like Dallas but something tells me that I would enjoy it more if I lived and worked downtown. A friend of mine confirms this. But I feel like I’m done with Dallas, I would like to move to another city, the main problem with doing this is that unless I have secured a job in any of them, finances are going to make it hard, way hard.

But, here are some of the cities that I think I would enjoy living in…

Dallas

New York City

Seattle

San Francisco

Chicago

Los Angeles

Orlando

Leave a comment at the end with which one you recommend or do not recommend and the place that you actually live in or a place that you would suggest.

Flying to the Past

Tonight, after being in New Zealand for 30 days, I am flying back to Dallas. Travelling like this is weird, mainly because the time zones are so far apart that it is like I am flying to the past.

For example:
Today is Thursday, January 21st in New Zealand, my plane leaves at 6:05 pm.

but…

I land in Los Angeles on Thursday, January 21st at noon.

Is that isn’t crazy I don’t know what is.

If you were wondering, I go from New Zealand to Fiji which is around 4 hours.

Wait in Fiji for my flight for 2 hours.

Then from Fiji to LA, which is more than 9 hours… on a plane. Ugh.

Then, LA to Dallas.

I like travelling, but I enjoy being in the place a lot more than the process. It can get very tedious, very fast. If you don’t know, planes are very uncomfortable, I am tall and my legs are long… so, for me the best thing to do when travelling is sleep. Lately I have bee able to do it in my flights quite a bit. Hopefully, on the one from Fiji to LA I will be able to sleep around 8 hours, that would be fantastic.

So, have a good night… and a pleasant tomorrow… whenever that is.

#50Pic Challenge!

It’s Friday in New Zealand and I am being part of the #50Pic challenge. I will be posting 50 random pictures of my day. It’s funny because I thought it was gonna be really easy but sometimes it’s a bit difficult to find what to take photos of. If you want to know more on the #50pic challenge visit Joshua White’s blog and you can find the instructions.  It’s basically taking 50 photos during the day.I will be posting them in intervals, maybe 10 per group.
