I’ve been in New Zealand for 24 hours, I arrived yesterday, Saturday, at 7:25am. One of the weirdest things is that after getting to my friends’ house it literally felt as if I never left. Last time I was here was in January, five months ago, but going into the house again felt like I was just coming from town. I guess that New Zealand has become one of my homes.
On the way from the airport, we stopped for some South African goodies, these fantastic pastries called Koeksisters, so great.

Then after that we stopped to get my measurements for my tux. I wanted to wear a top hat for Ben’s wedding but he said no. Sad. Haha!

We also stopped to get some things for the wedding, ribbons, napkins, petals, etc. It was great seeing Ben looking for these things. Did I ever mention that I used to decorate weddings with my Aunt? No, well there you have it. I guess that’s where part of my artsy-ness comes from.

And well, after that we kept driving and got to Paihia, where Ben and his family live. It feels great being back here. It also feels weird for the reasons mentioned before. Also, how could I miss this, Jetlag and Alcohol don’t mix well. Why? Well I went the restaurant where Ben’s brother Jon works and one beer. ONE. BEER. And it got me the drunkest I’ve been since… Well, in a long time. Anyway, had a great night sleep and am looking forward to a great time in New Zealand. Ben’s bride is coming on Tuesday and her best friends will come with her which is great.
I leave you with a quick photo I took on my way here. I love the pics I take with my iPhone.

Congrats to Ben! Is he living in NZ now? Are you the best man? Have fun!
Yes! I am the best man. He will be here for the wedding and honeymoon and
then moving back to Dallas, his wife lives there.
I'm waiting for the day you announce that you're moving there.
Keep your iPhone dry this time!
Haha I really don't think I'll ever move here, at least not for good. Maybe
for a short amount of time to write or something like that but for a long
amount of time. And yes, my iPhone needs to stay dry.
You don't live in NZ – you holiday there. And live in Australia.
Well that's what the Kiwi's do anyway
That pic of you in the top hat is amazing!! You know that I'm totally living through you right now so KEEP THE PICTURES COMING!!!!! Ok – we are so hanging out when you get home so don't think about staying there!!
